Kernel panics

Post by sydney112 »

Hello, I've been getting kernel panics from using Virtualbox pretty often on my 2015 MacBook Air (i7/8GB RAM/256GB SSD). They tend to vary a bit, but a pattern seems to emerge. Kernel panics with Bluetooth and with graphics. One thing I've noticed is that it most commonly happens when either Spotify or Discord is running, but neither crashes it alone, only when VBox is running. It also most commonly happens with more than one VM running.

  • I don't see the connection between the crashes and VirtualBox, at least after a first reading.
  • You have two crashes in the "kernel_task" and one in "Discord Canary H", nothing to do with VirtualBox.
  • I don't see any other kernel extensions from the crashes, but can you post the output of the following command:
    • kextstat | grep -v com.apple | grep -v org.virtualbox
PS. Next time you should ZIP all your logs and attach the ZIP files. It helps save a (virtual) tree or two... ;)
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
