Error with Host Interface Networking

Post by gpz500 »

Hello,
I have VirtualBox 1.6.4 just installed on a Ubuntu 8.04 i386 box.

If I configure the network interface of my virtual machine as Host Interface, I obtain the following error window during startup:

and then it closes.
No problem with NAT networking.

How can I solve?
Thank you!

I removed the picture that has nothing to do with VB in your post, try to keep it on topic.

Did you read the manual on how to set up Host Interface Networking? You need to create a Host Interface first, select that to use on the Guest and then you can boot the VM. A bit more info is needed, as for why you want HIF. See the Forum Posting Guide to help you with a good Opening Post.

Sorry, it was my fault!
Now, I've created a vbox0 network interface and everything is working...
