Hi to all, i'm trying to run OS X El Capitan on a virtual Machine on High Sierra, but when i pressed start button the virtual machine crashed.

I used the following tutorial to configure the machine (the first part) how-to-install-mac-os-x-el-capitan-on-pc-on-virtualbox and the same hard disk.

The log for error is following file:

You are assigning memory to your guest, that you do not have available. Either close some applications on the host, buy more RAM for the host, or reduce the amount of RAM assigned to the guest.

Your graphics memory is a little on the low side. I'd take it to 32, 64 or even 128 MB.

And finally we get to this. Where did you get this from? This doesn't look like you're trying to install 10.11, it looks like you downloaded a Hackintosh version, is that right?

I tried again with a new configuration and I changed the old disk (with the os) that i've tried to run. Now I'm using an El Capitan ISO, but the error continue...

Any particular reason why you disabled ICH9 from the VM recipe? Don't just experiment with no reason, there's a logic behind the template suggestions. Stick with them, until you figure out what they do.

Can you right-click on the VM, "Show in Finder", ZIP that .vbox file and attach it as well?

• Increase the number of CPUs to 2.
• Increase the RAM to 3072 MB. You're running thin on your host RAM, so try to close all other apps first.
• Change the USB controller to USB 3.

Do you know what version of 10.11.x did you use to create the ISO? If not, use the script from the "[HowTo] Create OSX ISO from the OSX Install app". You don't actually have to recreate the ISO, just get to the options summary screen.

Since you only did 50% of what I asked you to do (no USB3, no mention of the OSX version/build), here's what I want you to do next. Open up Terminal and enter the following commands, exactly as they are here:

Sorry, I created the new iso on High Sierra 10.13.5.
I run the lines in terminal and i figured out that the usb 3.0 is ready now (Thanks you).
I tried to run the vm but this is not working yet.

I honestly don't know why you're not able to make this work. There is one very minute detail, and that is the number of your SATA ports. VM Settings » Storage, select the SATA controller, on the right change the "Ports" to 2. But I don't think it's going to make a difference. And no, I don't want a fresh set of logs if it doesn't work...

Other than that, I need you to tell me where you got the installer application from. That's my only, my last piece of something that I don't know. Other than that, I'm drawing a blank...

Oh, and setting these parameters is not for an OSX on OSX installation, it's for a Hackintosh. Do not use them.
