virtualbox.org

I downloaded VirtualBox-5.2.12-122591-OSX.dmg and verified the MD5 checksum.
I double-clicked on the .dmg file and got the usual thing saying to double-click on the icon. [Can't post picture because I only joined today - of course I only joined because I have this problem, thanks for that.]

After I double-click on VirtualBox.pkg, I get a little window that says Verifying "VirtualBox.pkg"...

Which has just sat there for about 30 minutes at this point.
I have previously tried cancelling that and downloading the file again (in spite of checksums matching), but I get the same result.

Any suggestions as to what to do would be greatly appreciated.

and remembered the flack as people couldn't believe Apple would screw up.

Haha. Turns out that restarting my Mac was enough to make it work.
I thought that was just a Windows issue.
Losing faith in Apple...
Had too many things in my search terms even though tried several.
