Hard disk size doesn't reach the extended size set by virtualbox

Post by mauriziomura »

Hi,
I've tried to extend the HD dimension on Windows 10 (full updated). The VDI file is settled to 150 Gb HD Drive (originally created with 50 Gb size). Now the space on the HDD is not enough and I need to extend the disk dimension. Window and its disk utility doesn't allow me to find any free space on the virtual HD so the size remain the same initially created. Anyone can help me please?

Thanks in advance for your support

Maurizio

There's a FAQ for that: How to resize a Virtual Drive.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Sorry but the system don't work.
the VDI file of my VM says I have 150 Gb space.
On Windows 10 Disk Management tool I can't find any free additional space to extend my HD... I only manage the 50 Gb space.
Can you please help me?

Thanks!

You must have discovered a new world, because everybody else (and their mother) that they tried these instructions, it worked.

I have to direct you to re-read really carefully the FAQ again. Mainly watch for snapshots. If reading it really carefully a second time, and that doesn't work, then...

Right-click on the VM. "Show in Finder". ZIP the ".vbox" file in the Finder and attach it to your reply. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
