I have been using Virtual Box for months, however due to a Virus problem in Wndows I have been forced to de-install Virtual Box. My problem is I have tried every way that I know to reinstall but with no success. My latest effort thro' the terminal came up with this error message

Code: Select all

Note, selecting virtualbox-ose instead of virtualbox
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libswfdec-0.6-90
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
Suggested packages:
  bridge-utils
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  virtualbox-ose
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

After this operation, 20.7MB of additional disk space will be used.

Unpacking virtualbox-ose (from .../virtualbox-ose_1.5.6-dfsg-6ubuntu1_i386.deb) ...
Setting up virtualbox-ose (1.5.6-dfsg-6ubuntu1) ...

 * Starting VirtualBox kernel module vboxdrv
 * No suitable module for running kernel found.
I seem to have a problem with installing the Kernel.

Anyone have any ideas ??

Install Version from VBOX Homepage.

Read UserManual for Requirements like gcc and kernel-source.

Do a sudo apt-get remove virtualbox-ose first if you want to use the VirtualBox PUEL Edition. Note that this has extra functionality that you will probably want to use.
