I finally decided to split your post from the "[Solved] Virtualbox does not see usb device" thread. I don't really like discussing new issues in threads that have been marked as [Solved].
I didn't see an "lsusb" from the host yet, so, could you post that? And I'm not sure if all the necessary packages for proper host USB support are installed, I wouldn't know what to look for. That's without even taking VirtualBox into account...
