[WorksForMe] Virtualbox 5.2 does not detect the external Hard Drive

Hello,
I am running Virtual Box 5.2 on Ubuntu 16.04. I am not able to see my external drive and neither able to run my virtual machines from it. My Ubuntu works fine with the hard drive.

VirtualBox sees what your host sees. I don't expect that you'll find anything in the directory you're looking...
I'd start at the "Computer" level.

Hello Socratis, Thank You for replying. My Host, ubuntu, is able to detect the hard disk and my VMplayer can do it as well. But i wonder why virtual box is not able to see it.

I already told you. You're looking in the wrong place. Start at "/", not at "/home/chahal/VirtualBox VMs".
