Fedora 8, WinXP rawdisk, GRUB disk error

I am running a Fedora 8 host.
I have created the rawdisk, taken care of the rights issues, etc....
When I attempt to start the WinXP machine I get a black screen that states "Grub hard disk error".
WinXP is installed on /dev/sda1 and grub is on the same disk. My Fedora install is on /dev/sdb.
I found some references to modifying the MBR but I do not have the original XP installation media. Not sure I want to explode XP YET!
I was able to load Fedora 9 and Windows 2000 as guest operating systems.
