vboxautostart-service.service doesn't work ubuntu 17.10

Hello,

I've been trying to get the vboxautostart-service running in systemd under ubuntu 17.10 for a couple days now, and I'm about at my wits end.
I've configured everything properly, but it seems that no matter what I try it fails to start my vms automatically, and refuses to unless i have the VM VirtualBox Manager GUI opened in my session.

I'm under the impression that this isn't supposed to be how it works, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. has anyone else with ubuntu 17.10 had this issue?

I am having a similiar issue,mine is trying to get a 2nd vm to autostart. My primary starts but not the second. I posted here:

Also I am using 16.04.
