Start VBoxManage startvm MV in fullscreen mode or switch to

Post by Alexey_Kor »

Is it possible using autokey software to pass a command to the virtual machine "VM1" window to expand it in fullscreen at startup?
I need to autostart a full-screen VM window with the ability to connect the USB flash drive with the tool + HOME
I do not see any other solution except autokey :-(
How to send this hotkey when starting the VM ?
Sorry for my English ...

That depends on your OS, how it autostarts programs. Windows uses the Startup program group, OSX uses the Dock » Options » Open at Login. I don't know what's your host OS.

A VM that was shutdown when in full screen, will restart in full screen.

I do not understand that part. What does connecting the USB flash drive have to do with "tool + Home". And what is "tool"? And what is "Home"?

What is "autokey"?

Thank You for the reply. I use CentOS 6.9 as host (this forum is "VirtualBox on Linux Hosts").
Guest OS is Windows 7. The correct hotkey is HOST+HOME (not tool+home), sorry.

The forum is for Linux Hosts alright. But "Linux" is a generic characterization. Specifics are really important, down to the date that your kernel was updated, or to what Window Manager you're using. So, details are rather important.

I'm not sure what HostKey+Home will do for a VM that's running full screen, as the only thing it's supposed to do is to bring up the mini-toolbar. I don't see how this is going to help you insert/capture a USB device...

In any event, I'm not sure if AutoKey (or any other software) can be directed to the VM, I find it rather difficult. Give it a shot...

 The mind boggles. If the title of forum provided sufficient identification of a users scenario then people wouldn't need to ask questions at all. Each forum would consist of one answer!
