Hey forum!
I´m using Virtualbox 5.2.6 but right now i have a problem where i don´t know ho to fix it. I´m using Virtualbox for evaluating network installation of software using group policies in our schools so i replaced my HP z400 with it´s younger daugther: a HP z400 equipped as following:
- Xeon E5-1640, a sixcore CPU running up to 3.60 GHz
- 64GB RAM
- nvidia quadro P600
- NVMe SSD for SSD
- SATA SSD for VMs
I really thought that would be a great solution for the memory problems i had with my old z400 with "only" 16GB of RAM, but now i have a for me completly new problem: After installation the Virtualbox guest additions the screens of my Win 8.1 and Win10 VMs become black, i can´t see whats going on. Because of enabled RDP support in the guest OS installtions i´m able to shut them clean down, but after every boot the problem is still there. Maybe also an important help: Windows XP and Windows 7 don´t have the problem!
My first idea was a problem with the installed graphic card of the workstation - but the problem also exists when connecting to the z440 which is running under Windows 10 Pro Build 1709 using RDP.
Does anybody know this problem? Does anybody have an idea how to fix it?
Best regards from germany
Norbert

First of all, get rid of the RDP so we know what we're talking about. The less parameters involved, the less convoluted combinations we have to analyze/troubleshoot.
Then, we're going to need to see a VM log from a complete VM run:
Then, we're going to need to see a VM log from a complete VM run:
- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe error / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form).
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Attached you can find the LOG from my Win10 VM, Win8.1 is still installing updates.
maybe interesting: In the preview windows of the VirtualBox Manager i can see the screen of the vm correct, but the vm windows itself is completly black. When i make in the situation a screenshot using VirtualBox i also see the screen of the vm

Starting at around the 18" mark:
Your NVidia drivers are being rejected due to hardening. Read Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues for ideas on how to troubleshoot this. Or disable 3D acceleration for your VM.Code: Select all
