I run a linux mint machine (based on ubuntu 16.04) and have installed virtualbox 5.1.32 with the extension pack. I try to run a snapshot with windows xp and got the following error.
I'm not sure the OP updated VirtualBox. The error is simply saying that when they took the snapshot, there was a USB device attached. Now it's not there. You can't restore a saved state with missing hardware.
@madmoses, you have two options: 1) make the USB device available again before restoring, or 2) discard the saved state, as Perryg mentioned.
Generally speaking, avoid saved states. I haven't seen anything good coming out of them, except some shaved seconds/minutes. And of course, like in any rule there are exceptions.
