Upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS fails [Solved]

Attempting to upgrade from version 5.1 to 5.2 on Ubuntu 64 bit 16.04 LTS Xenial. I've downloaded the 5.2 for Xenial. When I attempt to install it aborts with an error message. (See attached screen grab.) Error: Breaks existing package 'virtualbox-5.1' that conflict: 'virtualbox'. But the '/home/david/Downloads/VirtualBox/virtualbox-5.2_5.2.6-120293_Ubuntu_xenial_amd64.deb' provides it via:'virtualbox'

I was reluctant to do an uninstall and re-install since I use this often and did not want to risk not being able to use it at all. So that has not been attempted.

Any insight is appreciated. Any questions or requests for additional information will be responded to.

Note: I did a search for this issue and could find no previous resolution to this problem.

I beat my unworthy head on the ground before you. :-)

As allways, you can't upgrade Vbox 5.x to 5.y. You have to purge the old version 1st.
