Hello,

I am trying to install Fedora 27 workstation on macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 using instructions available on the web: https://wiki.dlib.indiana.edu/display/V ... tualBox+VM

At step 4 under the section "Configuring the Image", I get the following error upon selecting the downloaded Fedora 27 .dmg file:

Failed to open the disk image file /Users/vp/Downloads/FedoraMediaWriter-osx-4.1.0.dmg.
Could not open the medium '/Users/vp/Downloads/FedoraMediaWriter-osx-4.1.0.dmg'.

VD: error VERR_VD_DMG_INVALID_HEADER opening image file '/Users/vp/Downloads/FedoraMediaWriter-osx-4.1.0.dmg' (VERR_VD_DMG_INVALID_HEADER).

Problem: you're following a 2 year-old tutorial. That's ancient history in software terms. Two years ago, there was no "media writer". And that's not the ISO that's described in the instructions. How about reading the manual for a tutorial?

The ISO that you're looking for is something else, for starters it has the extension ISO, not DMG. In the page that you were directed, on the right-hand side it has an "Other Dowloads" section, under which there's a LiveDVDImage: https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/ ... 27-1.6.iso

Generally speaking, a search for "Fedora ISO download" should lead you to the correct option.
