High!
I just started a virtual machine of DOS type, added a floppy drive (fd0) and tried to install MS-DOS 6.0 like I used to do on real machines, i. e. simply by booting from Microsoft installation disk #1... but obviously, that failed, I got the message
FATAL: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted.
What went wrong? I'm quite sure that the diskettes are intact, as they worked perfectly on another computer some months ago and were properly kept away from dust and magnetic fields...

Unable to install MS-DOS 6.0 from diskettes
Able to install DOS but formatting of the virtual HD fails..

I found out that (of course!) Virtual Box doesn't mount any diskettes automatically, so I had to do this from Linux... then booting worked, but when I started to install, I was not able to complete formatting of the virtual harddisk (512 MB), the status box remains at 0 %... I used a non-dynamic virtual harddisk, so I wonder why this occurs!
