Is that proof that if you enabled/disabled the mouse integration, that the preference would stick? After a reboot? Because that's what the thread is all about, right?

Try to switch the keyboard from PS/2 to USB. One of the differences between "Other" and "Linux". Tell me if the behavior you're seeing is the same, if it still "works"... Plus, you're talking about a completely different issue!

If you want to talk about that issue, do. But on a different thread, not here...
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

It had permanently stopped (after a reboot) what I thought was "mouse integration" (The ability to move the mouse outside of the window without having to hit the right control key) Which I wanted off (No idea what the original poster wanted)

You mean mouse to USB Tablet(I don't even see a keyboard option)? Yeah that reenables mouse integration.(Not what I want) The tablet modes are relatively new. I think that may be part of the confusion at least mine.
I set it to linux with ps/2 mouse and it worked as I wanted still.
I no longer have an issue. I don't know if the suggestion to pick ps/2 mouse (Note: remove vm tools from virtual machine would also be needed) works for the OP but it does for me. It leaves the mouse attached to the machine until I press the right ctrl key. Which is what I thought was the behavior of "permanently stopping mouse integration" (Pretty much the title of the thread and what I thought was originally asked in this thread / which was my question)

Further adding to confusion: There use to be a dialog box that popped up saying something along the lines that "mouse integration was disabled and do you really want to continue noting that to press the right ctrl to release the mouse" and it had a checkbox to not warn again. I didn't see this when I upgraded to 4.2. (That use to save properly. That may have been the option we are thinking of.)

I am truly sorry for any confusions I caused. I hope I may have presented a mend for everyone.
