VB 5.2 Linux Guest Extensions Not Working

VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.1-118452.iso and VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.1-118447.iso

Feels like VirtualBox 5.3 is still in the Beta Stages...

Neither are working on my system .. I have Mint 18.2 as the host and have tried to run both of the ISO's above with a guest installation of LM 18.2 and both fail.
I have rolled back to VirtualBox 5.1.30 and can use the Guest Extensions without any issues.
Hopefully the Guest Additions for VB 5.3 can be resolved and then I will give 5.3 another try : )

I had the same problems on VBox 5.2, Debian stable host, and Debian unstable guest - instead of rolling back the virtualbox version I solved it by installing the guest additions from 5.1.30. Works fine in my case. (I couldn't enable the "auto-resize guest display" functionality, but now with the older guest additions, it works).

Thanks for the advice. No doubt, these issues will be ironed out in time : )
