debuginfo packages RHEL/OEL distribs?

Hello,

I couldn't find these in the download area but are there some debuginfo packages available for rpm-based distributions?
I am currently debugging an issue where VBox 5.x (currently using 5.1.28) causes the 'xfs' perf tracing routines to show up in the top of 'perf top' on the host.
This wouldn't be an issue if there were XFS filesystems on the host (there are XFS filesystems only in the guests).
I'd love to get more information (callers/callee/.etc..) but I'm currently blocked due to the unavailability of debuginfo packages.
Any ideas? I wouldn't mind trying to recompile the src.rpm but I thought I'd ask here first.
Thanks for reading,
Vincent

There have never been debuginfo packages as far as I know. All the available packages are for distribution, i.e. no debug info. Either you need to recompile this from the source or ask a developer over IRC or in the mailing list for a debug build.

Best to simply build your own debug build. Too many things come into play IE kernel, gcc, Etc. for a pre-built to work properly.

Hi Perry,
Is that so? If Oracle is building binary rpms for our consumption, the debuginfo packages should have been built alongside (unless specifically removed from the SPEC file).
I'm going to ask on IRC but thanks anyway.
