Is it possible to force all connections that virtualbox makes over the tor network? I keep trying different methods but nothing is working, it is pretty frusturating. I see a lot of people here have asked similar questions but the results are not very helpful for me so far. I am sorry if this is a dumb question but any help will be greatly appreciated, even if it is just telling me yes it is or no it isn't possible (although if it is possible a little bit of help would be nice).

I can get Tor to detect the nodes from with in the virtual machine but when I try to make a connection with them it just automatically goes over my regular internet even though with in the virtualmachine I have firefox configured to send the connections over tor with privoxy. Please help!

Please read the Forum Posting Guide for help in framing Qs. I've tidied up your Q and added a reference. Do not assume that the people answering your Q can read your mind or have niche knowledge.

The Tor: Overview is quite interesting. I suspect that Privoxy does not work over NAT, and that you will need to set up your VM using a bridged network.

What you are doing is entirely doable, but it quite complex and needs a fairly detailed knowledge of IT. If you are uncomfortable with the content of the User Guide then I wouldn't even try until you are.

Three years later, there seems to be no easy way to direct all the traffic from a VM through a proxy.

You're left with using a solution in the Guest OS.Proxifier with Tor should work, though not on Ubuntu (Proxifier runs on Windows and Mac).

I'm also trying to do this, I'm running Ubuntu as a guest and Mac OS X for the host. Any help would be awesome.
