Win10 guest shown in two windows

Post by alexc »

After upgrading to High Sierra I have Windows 10 guests (both 32 and 64) shown in two windows - first is black with status bar and second is actual guest window (see uploaded attachment). Windows 7 and Linux guests are ok.

You moved the window, right? A temporary workaround is to hide or minimize the VM window temporarily. At least it used to work in the 10.13b. See if my description of the problem matches what I observed during a quick test that I did during the 10.13b period.

Yes, you are right, I did move the window and your previous post describe that issue in details; thank you for pointing it out - I was thinking there something wrong with my VirtualBox installation.

Thanks for confirming. It's a bug, definitely, but I'll wait until 5.2.0 is released to open a ticket. Thankfully the workaround is really easy; hide/show or minimize/restore the window.

PS. It's kind of fun up to a point. First time I saw it I was like "Whaaaaaaaaaaattttttttt????" .... ;)
