Why is VirtualBox automatically installing Guest Addition on Linux Mint? I never inserted the Guest Additions ISO, but it seemed to automatically be installed when I installed Linux Mint on my virtual machine. How do I prevent this behavior?

It is not VirtualBox is not installing the guest additions. Mint comes with them installed already as do a few others. Actually VirtualBox has asked in the past the none of the distros install them by default but they have the final decision.

Thanks for the info. Are you aware of any settings in Mint Linux's installer, which would allow me to configure the installer to not install Guest Additions when it installs Mint Linux?

No I do not. You would need to ask them.
