Say you have VM "A" with a snapshot. Say you create a second VM "B" and you point it to the snapshot as its main HD. Say you remove A without removing its files. Are you saying that B will continue running as if nothing happened?
I'm saying that if VM A is still registered, or at the very least the base disk is registered in VM X, then VM B will run. Otherwise VM B will not run. Being in a saved state makes no difference.
