Hello,
I changed my user name on my Mac, and Virtualbox still looks for the old user name.
How do I change the this please?
So I cannot open the Virtual PC,
I really appreciate a step by step help

What are you referring to? VirtualBox doesn't "look for" any user names.

Do you mean that a VM's login didn't change passwords at the same time as the host? Well naturally not - the VM is a separate PC. You should follow the normal guest OS procedure for changing password.

Actually if I read this right you didn't change the user name you created a new account ( names can not be changed ). Since VirtualBox is rather hard nosed about other users having access you would need to reset the VBox environment. I don't know how you change the VBOX_HOME_ENVIRONMENT in a MAC, but you could just install again and then see if you can add the original guest/s back using the add feature. Other than that you need to wait for a Mac user do drop by.

this is a variation on sharing VMs amongst multiple users. Google is your friend.

Ok, I just gave in and checked the link. The image is a jpg. I have no idea why you say that the site won't accept it, of course it will! In fact here it is below... The only thing which the site won't accept is an offsite link from a new user. That is not a problem if you attach the image itself instead of a link.

Ok, now all that is established, what is it that we see in this picture that invalidates the answers given, particularly Perry's?

Did you delete the "old" user id ?
Did you 'save' the "old" user's home directory ?
Have you emptied the trash since ?

I renamed the user, I think
so old user became new one.
trash has of course been emptied

macOS does not support renaming home directories, causes too many errors.

so you have ~/Library/VirtualBox/HardDisks/Windows 7.vdi ?? (Note that "~" is short-hand for your home directory)

Each time I launch the pc, the whole thing blocks, the mouse and keyboard become disconnected, and I have to reeboot the mac

The vm is trying to do a PXE boot (which times out). It is not trying to boot directly from a local .vdi, it is trying to boot from a network share somewhere, which it cannot find.

Why is the vm set up to do a network boot? Where is this .vdi? Is it on your Mac or somewhere else?
