Blurry text on MS Flight Simulator 2k with a XP vm

Hello, I am trying to use Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 on my linux machine. Wine didn't work, so I opted for virtualization.
I created a new vm with XP, installed guest additions but in the game (only) I get a strange blurry and purple-ish text. On windows (8.1) it looks normal:

I tried enabling/disabling 3D acceleration, but to no avail.
Do you know what can be the cause of this? Thank you for your time.

You should be attaching the images here, locally. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
So, that's the only problem you have with the simulator? Wrong colors in the text description? That's it? You're one of the lucky ones!
In any event, follow a "start the VM from cold-boot" / "observe error" / "shutdown the VM" cycle. With the VM shut down completely (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log". Save only the first "VBox.log",
ZIP it and attach it to your response.

Thank you! I attached the log to the first post. I tried with the images, but they are too big, I think I'll crop them to include only the text.
I know this seems a stupid problem, but a good chunk of this game consists in reading the tutorial, and after a while my eyes started to hurt

It looks like messed up anti aliasing to me. That would be a guest software problem (doesn't handle the video mode correctly), not a VirtualBox problem. I notice that in the bad image, some of the solid colors are slightly brighter. If there's a brightness option in the game then you might try tweaking it down.

Thank you for your answer.
I had a look at the video settings (didn't think about doing that...), and the problem should be that the software doesn't recognize the video card and can't enable hardware acceleration. Here is the comparison between virtual box and windows installed on disk.
EDIT: I tried to do direct3d diagnostic using the dxdiag tool (I already enabled direct3d in safe mode), I get a fail with d3d 7, while 8 and 9 worked fine. Since this game uses directx 7, I guess the problem resides in this. Do you know how it can be solved?

AFAIK VirtualBox installs DirectX8 and/or DirectX9 drivers. Not DirectX7. If you have DirectX7 then I don't believe they are part of VirtualBox. Possibly they are doing software rendering, or possibly you are mistaken about the game requirements. Any config options would be in the game itself, so no I can't give you any tips about that.
