VNC connects then times out

This used to work, but VNC started failing for me today when connecting to headless guests. What started it was my interface renaming itself on a reboot. I was able to get everything up and running again fine, except for the VNC connections. A network trace shows the client connecting to the server (syn, synack, ack), but then the server does nothing. After 20-30 seconds the client times out and I can't connect to the VM guest. I know something on the server must be broken, but don't know where to look. Ideas?

HOST: Ubuntu 16.04

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

Thx for the help. I checked ip_forward this morning and it is setup up correctly too. See attached log.

You mention VNC but the extension pack installed is vRDP. How exactly are you trying to connect and to what? VNC and vRDP are not compatible so be explicit.

VNC Viewer.
I forgot about trying RDP. Is there a VNC-specifc ext pack? I thought there was only one ext pack.

Yes there is a VNC extension pack, but it is available through your distro and only supported by them.

OK, thx for the info. I will see if I can find the ext pack and give it a shot.
