Bridging Internet Ubuntu With Windows XP

So I have an internal Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565/AR9565 wireless network adapter. I tried bridging them via Intel PRO /1000 MT Desktop to no avail. I don't know what promiscuous is (I looked up the word and means having or characterized by many transient sexual relationships which does not make sense in this context so I think it's this definition: consisting of a wide range of different things) so it's still in its default box: deny.

This will be my last post here. I looked everywhere online but no clear cut answer.

Thank you.

So I got it to work to a point. I switched to PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) then to ep2s0. The two computer boxes are shown with a red "X" in the system icon tray. I gone to "Network Connections" in control panel and saw "Local Area Network", also with a red "X". I don't know what to do afterwards.
