[WorksForMe] can't start ophcrack live iso in vm

I have VirtualBox 5.1.22r115126. I'm trying to run ophcrack in a VM.
However, every time I start the VM I get the following error message:
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!
It is a Linux Other 64-bit virtual machine. I tried making a 32-bit VM
and had the same problem.

Edit: I am using the ophcrack Vista/7 LiveCD.

There are three CDs: http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/downloa ... ype=livecd
I don't see a Linux-based LiveCD. Which one did you use?

The live CDs seem to be based on Slitaz 4.0

What's a Slitaz and where can I buy one? :D

Joking aside, my question was more "which one of the three options did you try?". I don't want to download all of them to recreate the OP's setup...

That was the answer to "I don't see a Linux-based LiveCD." - all of them are Linux (SliTaz) based... ;-)

Ah yes... I see it now. For some reason the "target" confused me...

Sorry. I should've thought of including in my opening post that I am using the ophcrack Vista/7 LiveCD.

Downloaded the distro, new VM with Other Linux 32-bit or Linux 2.x/3.x/4.x (tried both). It booted just fine.

I tried redownloading the ISO and checked the MD5 hash. I tried an Other Linux 32-bit and Linux 2.x/3.x/4.x virtual machine but still got the same error message. I tried going to the storage settings and, instead of loading the ISO file, I put a burned ophcrack 3.6.0 disc that I made earlier in the optical drive and set the VM drive to be host drive D:. I was able to boot from the optical disc. I tried doing a repair install of VirtualBox and rebooting but that didn't help with booting from the ISO file.

I must've had a bad ISO file. Just now I found that when I redownloaded the ISO I accidentally saved it in the wrong folder- didn't overwrite the bad ISO. I was still trying to use the bad ISO even though I redownloaded it. After I realized that and put the new ISO in the correct folder I was able to boot from it.
