How to disable the menubar

I'm running VirtualBox 5.1.22 on MacOS

When I'm in the Guest OS, in full screen, I would like the VirtualBox menubar _not_ to appear under any cicrumstances. It is very annoying that every time I move the mouse to the top of the screen to select some menu option or tab in my browser, the VirtualBox' menubar comes down to move in front of it.

The only working way I've found so far to achieve this is to go into "scaled Mode"; but this only works until the first window switch in the host system. I.e. this sort of works, but not very well.

What is an always-working way to achieve this?

Shut down the guest -> Guest settings -> User Interface -> Mini Toolbar -> uncheck "Show in Full-screen/Seamless"

Use the key combination "Host Home" to get a floating menu that allows access to the things the toolbar has.

Actually, I'd like to know if you see anything on that tab. I have an open bug report about this, #16504: OSX - Mini toolbar settings missing from "VM Settings ยป User Interface". For background discussion, see: Where's the Mini Toolbar controls?
