Belenix 0.7.1 on VB?

Post by sergio-peru »

after spending a couple of days tryng to actualize my OpenSolaris 2008.05 guest, I finally got convinced that the update engine does not work.

I tryed then to install OS2008.11 beta and Belenix 0.7.1 both based on new GNOME and, according with several references, both included several enhancements. The process of installing OS2008.11 was unsuccessfull when I tried to install to hard disk. With Belenix, the installation went smoothly, but I could not install VB Additions.

I found Belenix very interesting because it uses XFCE instead of GNOME, and it becomes a lighter guest.

I just wanted to share this and to know if somebody has succededd with Belenix on VB.

by the way, i use VB 1.6.2 on top of Ubuntu Hardy 8.0.4

Anybody? May be using the brand new VB 2.0?

Post by sergio-peru »

I have just tried using VB 2.0 and the same occurs. The installation of VB Addition works fine, but after rebooting nothing changed.

Somebody has a tip?

I am just downloading osol-0811-96.iso, the latest published trunk of next open solaris release.

let's see...

in the meantime, if someone may help ...

best wishes from South America
