I'm using the latest version of Linux Mint, installed maybe a month ago. VirtualBox was installed from repository (it was installed directly from website, but got reverted on me to from the repo on me). I'm using an HP 15 (HP-15-f387wm) laptop if you need a bunch of specs, but if not, I've 4G RAM and I've set Linux to have 8G SWAP as well (just do). I run HexChat, Google Chrome with usually 4-7 tabs open (NetFlix, Facebook always) and extensions (DuckDuckGo, Evernote, LastPass, Webutation, Full Page Screen Capture, uBlock). VirtualBox is set to only use 1 out of my 4 cores. Also I'm using MATE desktop for a lighter desktop environment.
Can anyone think of why VM would cause my host Linux Mint system to go slow at all?
Host is slower with VM running

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.
