virtualbox 1.6 to 1.6.2 how to upgrade/update

Post by ps_ »

hello all,

it would be very useful to me if anybody could write an how-to upgrade/update from virtualbox 1.6 to 1.6.2 for newbies.

tried to look for that but without success, the documentation is too tricky for me :(

thanks for your time.

p.s : I'm using Ubuntu 8.04

As I use Ubuntu too, I had not problems installing new versions. It removes the old one first and then install the new one. Never had any problems.

Nope, nothing of your custom settings will be removed, as those are stored on your home folder. Installer files for Linux don't have files for home folders, only when you run the application it will create them if they aren't there yet.
