Hello,
I want to buy a notebook for gaming. There are a lot of good games for Windows, which doesnt exist for Linux, so I thought I could play them with a windows virtual machine in a Linux Host. I know I can install both systems on my computer but I dont want to restart everytime if I want to switch from working to gaming.
I found a Notebook I like: XMG P407
The processor has VT-d, but how do I find out if the mainboad/bios can activate that function? Before I want to buy the notebook i would like to know if i can pass the graphic card.

Your success is very doubtful and even if you could with only one video card you would have a mess on your hand. I and a few others ( the amount I can count on my hands ) have done this with 2 video cards but the benefits did not match the amount of work to achieve.

As for the way to tell if VT-d is available you would need to ask the manufacture.
