Very high CPU usage

Post by albian »

Hello everyone!

I recently downloaded Nox to be able to play some of my favourite games on my macbook. But everytime I play for like 5 minutes, I notice that the computer gets very hot and the CPU from VirtualBox gets all the way up to 185-200%. I really am inexperienced with this kind of things, so I figured I would ask you guys here.

I'm running an early 2015 Macbook pro with:
OS Sierra v10.12.4
2,7 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-processor
8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 memory
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

Here are the settings on virtual box:

I already looked on Google but without luck unfortunately

Looking forward to your answers, and thank you again

If by "Nox" you're referring to is the Android emulator at bignox.com, then why is this a VirtualBox question and not Nox player question?

Second, and that's a general observation, games tend to use the CPU. A lot. Which also proves that yours works OK. So do the fans. If the application is CPU intensive, it's CPU intensive.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

High CPU usage can be indicative of several different problems including a virus or adware infection. It could also simply mean that your computer can't keep up with what you want to do, and an upgrade may be in order. So, I agree with the previous comment that your question has nothing to do with VirtualBox.

that is normal when playing games. They will try and take as much CPU as possible and when that happens, processors get hot.
