Android 6 with simulated WLAN / Wifi as Virtualbox Guest

Post by Stefaktiv »

My insurance offers an service App for Android to send them bills. Unfortunately my tablet has an old Android-Version so that the app will not work on it. Therefore I thought about using Android 6 as Virtualbox Guest. I managed to install the Android and now I can start the service App... just to see the next warning message: Wifi-Connection is necessary to use the app. The app does not work without Wifi-Connection even if Internet is available through LAN-Connection.

To simulate an "Fake-Wifi" I found this solution here:
repo.xposed. info/module/com.lemonsqueeze.fakewificonnection

First it would be necessary to install "Xposed Framework" on Android:
xtremetricks. net/install-xposed-framework-android-6-0-6-0-1-marshmallow/

In fact I could not manage to install it and did not find a way to "root" the Android guest in Virtualbox.

Is there another solution to simulate an Wifi / WLAN Connection?

How can Android be "rooted" in Virtualbox?

Simuliertes WLAN in Android Guest

Post by Stefaktiv »

Die genaue Fehlermeldung ist: "The Xposed framework is not installed. Please download the latest ZIP file from XDA and flash ist manually via recovery".

If the software software trick doesn't work then there is little else you can do. Short of such tricks the only way to get WiFi into a VirtualBox VM is to connect an actual USB WiFi dongle to the guest. That would require the guest OS to have drivers for the USB dongle. If Marshmallow has native drivers for that then you're in. Otherwise you're done.
