Windows 7 guest performance iiiiiiiiiiiissues
Posted: 2. Apr 2017, 20:44
I'm experiencing slow performance in my Windows 7 guest that I have been using for years. They have finally gotten annnoying enough to post here. Issues are:
1. repeated keystrokes (see subject line)
2. choppy sound
3. slow disk I/O
I think I resolved #3 by reseting my Crucial mSATA M500 card and enabling "Solid-state Drive" setting in VirtualBox. iostat -x 5 shows low service times to SSD disk which is dedicated to this virtual machine. I'm now running 'fstrim -va' weekly so unused SSD blocks are discarded.
Based on other posts I see here, it looks important to attach my VBox.log files, so I zipped them up and attached them.
I am using ALSA sound driver. I just enabled 2D acceleration which causes some issues with screen updates. I''m also seeing the following log entries repeated in VBox.log:
Here's the top of VBox.log:
Any suggestions?
