Re: Discussion: The Forum Posting Guide
What constitutes a URL isn't always apparent. Please put the text of your post in a text file and zip & post the file with the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
FWIW in about 3 hours you should be past the 1-day limit.

I can't post
Hi,
I tried posting on the VirtualBox on Windows Hosts forum. When I clicked the "submit" button, it reloaded the page, printed
"Please read the Forum Posting Guide before you post. These guidelines and rules help the VirtualBox community to make the most of this forum, and help avoid unnecessary repetition of questions which have previously been asked and answered
You must be a member for 1 days and have 1 posts before you can post urls." on the top, displayed the text box with my post, and displayed the "submit" button on the bottom. :I didn't type any URLs in my post. I can't post.

Re: Discussion: The Forum Posting Guide
It appears that your email address wants to turn into a clickable link. That's probably tripping the URL filter.
I wouldn't put my email in a public forum, the spammers' email scrapers would probably find it quick. If you mark your post to notify you of responses to topics you post in, you won't need your email known publicly.
One other trick I use for testing where the failure is in a large chunk of data is to split it down the middle and test the first half, then the second. If a half fails, split that half and test both quarters. Repeat until the portion of the data with the failure gets small enough to pinpoint. Successive approximation.

Re: I can't post
Of course you did. "icloud.com" is about as clearly a URL as you could get.PaoloBarone wrote:I didn't type any URLs in my post.

Re: Discussion: The Forum Posting Guide
It is at the top or bottom of each subforum page. Not on the main "Board Index" page. You'll find it in "Using Virtualbox", "VirtualBox on Windows Hosts", etc subforums.
