Cannot get to Guest Additions

Hello everyone. I am trying to install Guest additions into my VM (Ubuntu Server 16 LTS) and am having difficulty getting past the 'sudo apt-get update'. When I type in the previous command I get the errors that are shown in the attached file.

I can ping 8.8.8.8 with favorable results but cannot attain results here. I am VERY new with this Linux stuff, so I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated in figuring out what to do next. I suppose for now, I just need to get past this point before thinking about the commands for acquiring the files for the guest additions.

This appears to be a question on how to use Ubuntu and the command line. Since you see the network is working why not ask the Ubuntu folks?

One hint though. You will not achieve a lot by adding the guest additions to a server that only uses cli. Shared folders is the only gain and you need to install the guest additions with --nox11 to get it to install properly.
