Hello,

I am on windows 10 and I'm using Fedora 25 on my virtualbox Version 5.1.14 r112924 (Qt5.6.2)
But after a :

$ reboot

I can't login anymore on boot, I enter my password, it loads a black screen, and then ask me again my password ad infinitum...

Do you know what I have to do?

I can't see why you believe this to be a VirtualBox issue, unless you've done something really funky with your keyboard settings. Which is not easy to do, so please clarify. Do you see the characters entered in the password dialog box? Are you perhaps using a different keyboard layout?

I am tipping the good password, I just can't pass the login form. While I press connect, there is a black screen, and then I have to reenter my password.
If I tip a wrong password, it is just telling me so.
I had the same issue after installing the guest additions, and I had to reinstall Fedora.. :/

OK, glad we cleared that. In that case it may the window manager crashing?

1. Start the VM. Not from a saved or paused state. Clean start.
2. Take the steps required to generate/observe the error, i.e. try to login a couple of times.
3. Shut down the VM. Not saved, not paused. Completely shut down. If you can't shut it down by normal means, close the VM window and select "Power off".
4. Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show Log..."
5. Save it (just the first log), ZIP it and attach it in your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form).

I am observing the same thing as you. Maybe some sort of update in Fedora? You might have found some sort of bug. In the login screen, try "Gnome Classic" and it will work. We'll need to see if we get more reports about this to see what's causing it.

I tested this today since you said you were having issues as well and found something interesting. I booted my f25 and it worked just fine. Then I updated it because I had not for some time and found the GAs would not work. I had to update them to my build which is far ahead of the released version and it fixed the GA issue. Have you tried with the latest test build?

Yes, that did it!

I didn't see what the exact issue was because there were so many updates, but the build log pointed at changes in gcc and the kernel, so I figured that the DEVs had also seen this. Glad it worked for you. I only run my own custom build and build from SVN which makes it a little hard sometimes to remember issue I had in the past that would affect the current release.

I don't know if I understanded all of your discussion. But do I have to wait for the Version 5.1.15 r113168 (Qt5.6.2) ?
Because for me it is not working with the Gnom Classic nor the Gnom Xorg. The only way I can login it is to enter into shell mode (Ctrl+Alt+F4) then login in root and startx. It is only working in root, with my regular session there is a sort of timedout...

You also need to install the guest additions. Use the tty at login if you can not login any other way.

It is already installed, so when I try to install it I have an error. I tried to shutdown the virtual machine, I unmounted the guests additions, I launched the virtual machine, I tried to install it --> Nothing happened. I think he mounted it and do nothing because it is already installed. So I retried to install it and I have this error (I just translated it) :
