Ubuntu 16 host, Ubuntu 14 guest.
Host has no CPU load, basically nothing running on the host.
Host has 3 VMs, Ubuntu 16, Ubuntu 14, Windows 8.1
Ubuntu 16 and Windows 8.1 VMs currently idle
All 3 VMs have all updates, running latest service packs and kernels, running virtualbox guest extensions
I log in to the ubuntu 14 VM via SSH. .
The latency is terrible. Any ideas what I can do to troubleshoot? I type, and it takes a second or two to show up on the screen. Everything is just "slow". No GUI, just SSH and command line, all unnecessary services turned of on the VM.
The ubuntu 16 VM is not that bad though.
I have tried shutting down the other 2 VMs as well.
I have tried logging in through both Putty and Cygwin from my windows laptop, no difference in behavior.

Not knowing how things are setup and what-not it is hard to say. can we assume it is host to guest communications? If so what network settings have you used and which adapter type? VirtIO would be the best.
