virtalbox on ubuntu trusty cant find exixting VM as registerd

since we were not able to register the VM manually after the error message, cuckoo guys say its issue with virtualBOX. so i have a loop state. just wondering how i will get out of this loop

Look at it this way.

You have VirtualBox installed, All files are in their proper location. You can start the guest and it works with VBoxManage. All VirtualBox is concerned with is you can use it and run a guest. Now you try to operate VirtualBox with a 3rd party application and it fails. Where is that an issue with VirtualBox?

I am not familiar with cuckoo other than a clock so I can't tell you anything about how or why it works or doesn't. Have cuckoo tell you where the failure is and why it is a VirtualBox issue and not theirs since it does work when you run it native.
