Unix-style copy & paste on Windows hosts

Post by bismark »

Does anyone know of a tool to enable Unix-style copy and paste in Windows?

I am using X Mouse Button Control to give me middle click paste but it doesn't do the highlight copy.

I tried True X-Mouse Gizmo but it doesn't quite cut it.

Does this have anything to do with VirtualBox? If not, please, don't post it here but in other, specialized forums. Were are here to discuss VirtualBox only, not things you can and cannot do with an Operating System.

Interesting, I thought I replied to this...hmm comment disappeared into the ether somewhere.

Yes I feel this does pertain to VirtualBox. I use VBox as do a lot of people to run Windows on my Linux machines and have come to expect certain functionality. I assumed that maybe someone else using VBox this way may have ran into the same problem and possibly figured out a solution.

Certain mouse drivers supply a configuring tool for the mouse that let you assign certain functions to non-default mouse buttons, like the middle mouse button. However, installing this software in a Guest system can conflict with mouse integration or the entire use of the mouse. Use at your own risk.

I'm sure that there are other programs that won't screw up your mouse driver that have this option, like the ones you already posted. I still don't see it as a VB question, therefor I'm locking this thread. All that this topic is about is a certain mouse function that VB cannot supply.
