BLKCACHE_IOERR

Post by Tim_NU »

Hello,
I am having trouble lunching my VM.
The message that I am receiving is:
The I/O cache encountered an error while updating data in medium "ahci-0-0" (rc=VERR_DISK_FULL). Make sure there is enough free space on the disk and that the disk is working properly. Operation can be resumed afterwards.

Can anyone advice me, what should I do.
Thanks,
Tim

All you need to do is right there. The disk being referred to is the host's physical disk, by the way.

You can't extend the size of a physical drive. You can delete files off it. If you are trying to add your external drive to your physical internal drive so you can continue writing the virtual disk's data onto the external drive, you can't do that.

You will need to move the guest to a larger drive. See Moving a VM.
