[Solved] VM boot error

Post by razm »

Hello,
My VM is not booting.

I have attached an print screen of the error.

My virtual machine specs are:
Ubuntu 64bits
Video memory 128MB
1 monitor
Base Memory 2048 MB
1CPU
16GB HD space

Any clue of what could be happening?

Not a "Windows Hosts" question. Moved to "Linux Guests".

Please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

Did you set an unusual graphics mode in the guest? Install any drivers?

I've just updated all the video drivers on the computer but the error remains..

the VM actually boots, but the issue is on the initial screen.

I´ve just found out that the mouse cursor appears when it is placed on the left upper corner as you can see on the image attached.

My graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce 210

Thanks !

VirtualBox 4.1.14?

Try it with a more up to date release, i.e. the current release is 5.1.14. remember to update the Guest Additions too.

At the moment you not only have GAs more recent than the host VirtualBox version - a definite no-no - they are not even real VirtualBox GAs, but instead come from someone's fork. We don't support third party forked code here.
