Now since some months I am no more able to access USB devices on my guest systems (Linux and Windows guests).
Yesterday I made a distribution upgrade from openSUSE 42.1 to 42.2 and I hoped that would solve my problem but it did not.
Vitualbox version is now 5.1.8_SUSE r111374
I downloaded and installed the proper extension package.
The user on the host system is member of the group vboxusers.
If I insert a USB stick it is recognized by the host system.
I tried to add a new USB filter using the Virtualbox GUI.
First I enabled USB 2.0(EHCI) controller and then I clicked on the icon to add a new USB filter. I get the message <no devices available>.
This occurs on each of my guest systems.
On the host I also tried the command line and I get this:
Code: Select all
VBoxManage list usbhost
Host USB Devices:
<none>
