OSX El Capitan Not an option

Post by dauntingpixel »

Hey guys. I have Virtualbox installed on my laptop and my desktop. I have installed the latest version on both machines however, on one of them, I do not have all the Mac OS X options. AM I missing something?

Model? Make? Which one, the desktop or the laptor? Which options do you have and which are missing?

the desktop which is an AMD system has the options for OSX 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11. I'm trying to install El Capitan which from my understanding will not work with AMD based systems. So I've installed the same version of Virtualbox on my Lenovo laptop with 24GB Ram and Intel i7 CPU. The only OSX option I have is 10.6 32bit.

oh..one last thing - the version of VB is 5.1.12 r112440

Actually, none of them will work with AMD-based systems, because Apple does not use AMD processors for its systems. And since OSX installs are only supported on Apple hardware, I'm locking this. See: Important notice regarding Mac OS X as Guest.
