XP and W7 VB's USB 2.0 devices were working previous to current version 5.1.10 r112026 (Qt5.5.1).
I am current running Oracle Virtual Box on Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit LTS. USB ports work fine in Ubuntu 16.04.
I have removed it and reinstalled it a few times now and no USB devices work each time. (and VBox Guest additions).
I have assigned myself to the virtualbox users group.
Everything else appears to be working just fine.
Are there any more suggestions that I could try to get my USB ports back in XP or W7.

I removed your other post because cross posting is not allowed. I need for you to provide the following information:
- 1) Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.
2) The results of id from the host terminal.
3) VBoxManage list extpacks

Understood.
Yup; here removed post right after posting under the wintel section.
Thank you for having a look see PerryG.
1 - attached zip file with VB logs for XP. I can do the same for W7 if you like.

Mostly only care about this device which worked fine in XP / W7 beforehand.

You should take care of this as it will improve your experience
This shows that as far as VirtualBox is concerned everything is working.
Did you reboot the host after you added yourself to the vboxusers group?

Thank you PerryG.
Changed bios to enable VT-X.
Don't recall ever changing it.
Did you reboot the host after you added yourself to the vboxusers group?
Yes per some fixing instructions I googled a couple of days ago.

This is strange. I went to have another look at your log file because the screen shot you posted also said you have an invalid setting but it seems to be missing. What is the invalid setting? If you hover your mouse over it it should tell you.
Only thing left is to remove the filters you have enabled and then start the guest, use the device tab at the top and select a device and see if it mounts it in the guest. The filters should work but the filter information might have been corrupted and removing it may show why. You can always add them back later.

Had identical settings for both W7 and XP. Lowered RAM to 1024. Thank you PerryG.

Removed filters, used to guest additions CD to see the USB device, rebooted, saw the USB device then added the filter. Thank you PerryG.
