Moving VM`s (Windows Guests) to another PC

Hi there, my situation is next:
I have 2 PC`s with Windows OS, on both PC`s i have installed Oracle VirtualBox Manager, each PC have 5-6 VM (Windows OS Guests).
Now i want to merge all my VM`s in one PC, without having to reconfigure them or loosing any information from VM`s.

Actually i was thinking about taking HDD from one of PC`s and put it into anoter PC, merge folders "VirtualBox VM`s", merge folders ".VirtualBox"
my logical disks are the same, on both pc`s my vdi files are situated in "d:\VM\vm1.vdi"

Please tell me if that will work. Or how do i do that.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

See Moving a VM

I would not try merging folders, and don't merge the .Virtualbox folder either. Just copy the guest folders and register them on the new host PCs.

There may be a very small chance that a copied guest's unique UUID identifier number may happen to match an existing guest's UUID. You will get an error in this case when registering the copied guest. Post the text of the error and we'll help you through it.

if i understood correct, then i must do the following:

1. Attach a HDD with all my VM`s and files to another PC.
2. In Oracle Vbox Manager go to Add VM
3. Choose the .vbox file (from the attached HDD)
4. And if needed to show where is the .vdi file

am i right?
Thank you.

Pretty close.

If your guests are in the post-4.0 format, where the .vbox file, the .vdi, and the logs and snapshots folders are all inside one folder named the same as the guest, then you should have no problems registering the guest, subject to the UUID-duplication possibility mentioned above.

If you have the .vdi in a different folder than the .vbox, then you will need to be sure the added drive has the same drive letter that it had on the old PC, or the guest won't register.

If you register the guests while they are still on the added drive the added drive will have to stay connected to run the guests.

If the registering process accepts the new guest you won't have to show where the .vdi is.
