The release date shown on the home page should be November 21, not October 18.

@BrianG61UK,
Please do not post messages about things that "still do not work". If it were like this, then every such thread should have about 2000 replies. Not that helpful. This thread is about things that are breaking with this release, not things that are already broken.

I will not remove your message, but please do not repeat this in the future. Thanks for understanding...

Auto Capture Keyboard does no longer work for me. When I switch to the guest system, the keyboard is not captured, even though I have selected the Auto Capture Keyboard option in the keyboard settings. Auto Capture Keyboard used to work fine up to the previous release.

I am running a Lubuntu 16.10 guest (it was complete with the 5.1.10 guest additions) on a macOS 10.12.1 host.

I have downgraded back to 5.1.8 because no longer having Auto Capture Keyboard is just too disruptive.

It's an issue that appeared in the builds between 5.1.8 (111374) and 5.1.10 (112026), and more specifically between builds 111660 and 111724, around 2016-11-04.

I have opened a bug report about this #16150: "Cmd-Tab broken between builds 111660 and 111724". Don't let the tile misguide you, look at the 1st comment. Add your input if you can. It seems to only affect OSX hosts so far (3/3 reports).

Workaround: press the HostKey once while having switched to the VM to re-capture(?) the keyboard. Mind you, keyboard input is going to the VM, not just all of it...
 Edit: Update
It seems to have been fixed with builds > 112205. See https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds

i noticed the changelog says that the 5.0 sound system has been used until the 5.1 system is overhauled. i've had out of sync audio for most of 5.1.x but now i have no audio with 5.1.10

are we supposed to use alsa in our linux guests now or stick with pulseaudio but use ac97 instead of intel, or what?

i seem to get no sound in debian jessie guest with intel or ac97 with pulseaudio (debian stretch host)

You should use the AC'97 emulation.

As for ALSA vs. PulseAudio... whichever works better for you.

Can't say anything more without knowing details, obviously.

I had some problems with sound going out of synch in VMs, but now it seems fixed. Thanx for a great job! :)

Host: Solaris 11.2
Guest: Linux (tahrpup, Mint), Win7

I just downloaded VirtualBox with the intention of using it on Windows 10 (64) to load Ubuntu. Careful as I am I like to read the documentation first.
I feel compelled to post to express my admiration for the Documentation. In my opinion I have never seen in other software such a well organized and clear documentation.
Kudos to the writer(s)!!!
