Recently I've been having issues with the host machine becoming non-responsive and requiring a full power down to get up and running again. I investigated my normal workflow from KDE plasma 5 and Gnome desktops and found the same problem. I then stopped using various applications one at a time and found that when I have VirtualBox running (version 5.1.
, the system freeze happens. I've downgraded my VirtualBox instance to version 5.1.4 and still see the problem. If I don't bother to run VirtualBox, the system seems perfectly happy. (The very odd thing is that I have a near identical setup, albeit on a very different machine, that never exhibits the problem.)I've attached the VBox.log file from the most recent crash. I don't see anything in particular that raises suspicion, but then I don't know what to look for.
